BUTTERFLY PARK

SWOTT has cleaned several unwanted trees and plants encompassing the Puzhal lake vicinity as a part of “Green Belt Development” initiative towards making the Puzhal lake a greater, cleaner and greener reservoir.
While cleaning and cutting those trees, a large vacant space was discovered
A proposal was given by SWOTT to convert this large vacant space into potential “Butterfly Park”.
SWOTT along with Alpha Mat. Hr. Sec. School completely cleaned the area; more than 100 saplings which are beneficial for insect and fly were planted. A research study has established that Puzhal Reservoir is a home to at least 43 species of butterflies. The area will have grown sapling into tree, which itself act as host and nectar-yielding plants.
