The concept for the Cover the Poor project arose after seeing homeless individuals sleeping on platforms in mosquito-infested areas and using paper blankets to protect themselves from the cold.
Our Joint Treasurer Asra Khan has been coordinating with our volunteers for the past four years, distributing blankets, biscuits, and water bottles to the homeless in Chennai during the months of November and December. In 2021, we distributed 600 blankets for the homeless in Chennai under the “Cover the Poor” initiative.
