CHENNAI FLOOD 2021
SWOTT has been providing food to the poor and needy, under the “Feed the Unfed” initiative. We have special person dedicated exclusively to coordinate this program. This initiative has been successfully enrolled since the first week of August 2021. So far, we have distributed each and every Sunday, i.e., 18 weeks. A total of “9054” food packets have been served to needy.
The rain started lashing out Chennai in the second week of November, and the flood following the rain has caused severe inundation of rain in many areas. Therefore, SWOTT with the help of Chennai Police Department have extended support to more than 1000 families in the flood-affected area (Aynavaram, Egmore, Jawahar Nagar, Madhavaram, Moolakadai, Parrys, Pattalam, Perambur, Perimet, Periyar Nagar, Pulianthope, Purasaiwalkam, TVK Nagar, Vysarpadi, etc.) by distributing food. In this flood period, a total of “3170” food packets have been distributed to the needy.
